COVID-Secure Rules and Procedures Sep

We are looking forward to welcoming all the swimmers back to their lessons.
To operate a COVID-secure environment we ask everyone to please follow the following Rules and Procedures which may change with
Government guidelines:
General
- Swimmers must not attend lessons if they, or any members of their household, are showing any COVID symptoms
- If a swimmer becomes ill during a lesson they will be quarantined. Parent/guardian will be contacted and expected to take child home immediately
- Swimmers are to be accompanied by one parent/guardian only
- Non swimming siblings must not attend
- The main door will be set to “open mode” when possible
- For everyone’s safety we would appreciate if parents/guardians who enter the building wear a face mask/covering
- All high touch surfaces will be cleaned regularly
- All swimmers must shower prior to entering pool
- A COVID -Officer will be in attendance to accompany swimmers, assist Instructors, clean touch areas and monitor activity
- There will be no catch-up lessons available
- Medication ie inhalers, EpiPen, must be named and handed to COVID-Officer
- If you have any special needs or requirements, please speak to the COVID-Officer
Course Booking and Payment
- On booking you must confirm your contact details for Track & Trace and provide the mobile phone number of the parent/guardian who will be accompanying each
swimmer
- Please ensure prompt payment before course start date to secure place as spaces are limited
- New course dates and a payment reminder will be communicated one week in advance
- All payments must be made by Bank Transfer to the following Account:

- Reference: “child’s name”
Arriving at the Pool – “Pool Ready”
- On the school site swimmers and parents/guardians must walk directly to and from the pool observing Social Distancing whilst keeping to the marked path
- Swimmers and parent/guardian must enter the main door in single file
- Swimmers must arrive “pool ready” with their swimsuit/hat/goggles on, wearing clothing/shoes that are quick to remove (suggest a Onesie and sliders or
similar)
- Everyone who enters the pool building must use the hand sanitiser
- Swimmer/s and parent/guardian may enter the foyer no earlier than 5 minutes prior to lesson start time to help child undress, then take the swimmers clothing/towel
and wait outside or return to car
- Parent/guardian is to don armbands if required
- The COVID-Officer will meet the swimmers in the foyer five minutes before the lesson begins
Poolside Entry
- The COVID-Officer will accompany the swimmers through the showers and to their allocated lesson position observing the one-way system
Lessons
- Instructors will explain and encourage swimmers to Socially Distance
- Every swimmer will have an allocated resting position which will be clearly marked on the wall
- Class sizes will be limited
- Shallow end and deep end lessons will have staggered start and finish times
Equipment
- Equipment will be used once then quarantined or cleaned
- Goggles will not be available to borrow
Poolside Exit – “Dry and Go”
- The COVID-Officer will accompany the swimmers to foyer after the lesson observing the one-way system
- Parents/guardians must be outside main door before the end of the lesson.
- Parents/guardians are encouraged to enter foyer to assist with drying and popping clothes over swimsuit – Dry and Go
- Changing rooms will be available for changing after lesson only – please limit time spent in the changing room
- No clothing/belongings are to be left in the changing rooms as regular cleaning will take place
- Everyone to exit the building in single file asap
Staff
- All staff will have undergone training to understand the new Rules and Procedures and comprehensive Risk Assessment based on advice from Swim England
- Instructors in the water will wear visors
- Instructors may jump in and out of the pool depending on the activity and swimmer’s ability
- Instructors will not manually help the swimmers as much as they did prior to lockdown. Lessons and teaching techniques will be adapted
Toilets
- Swimmers must use the toilet before leaving home. There will be a toilet available, but use is to be kept to a minimum
- Anyone using the toilet must wash their hands thoroughly
